Meghan Costa, better known as MC Beats, made a show stopping entry into the beatbox community in 2012 when she was ranked 3rd best female beatboxer in the world at the Beatbox Battle World Championship in Berlin, Germany. Since joining Stiletta, MC Beats has won Best Vocal Percussion at both the New York Harmony Sweepstakes and at Varsity Vocals’ International Championship of A Cappella Open. Her incredible beatbox performances have been heard everywhere, from The American Human Beatbox Festival in NYC, where she shared the stage with The Original Human Beatbox, Doug E. Fresh, to the Unity Festival and the "Freedom of Beats" Canadian Beatbox Championship in Toronto, where she both performed and judged. A self-taught beatbox artist, MC Beats' sound is most influenced by trance, techno and electronic dance music. Unlike most other beatboxers, MC Beats composes her own original songs, which she performs simultaneously with her beatboxing. Drawing inspiration from her masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, MC Beats aims to improve individual performance, while benefiting the organization of beatbox as a whole. Or, as she prefers to summarize, "Peace, Love and Beatbox."
